Choose an output, then upload a sharp, high-resolution scan (about 300 DPI). Small screenshots may not contain enough detail to recognize.
YOUR WORKFLOW
Use a sharp JPG, PNG or PDF. Keep the page flat, include every staff and crop away margins or shadows that obscure the notes.
Choose MIDI if you want to play the notes in a DAW. Choose MusicXML if you want to edit measures and parts in a notation program.
Compare pitches, rhythms and rests with the original. Fix recognition errors in your editor before rehearsing or sharing the score.
Yes. Use a well-lit, straight-on photo of printed staff notation. Make sure the clef, key signature and edges of every staff are visible.
MIDI is useful for playback and instrument changes. MusicXML carries notation into score editors where you can correct measures, voices and the layout.
Compare the first system to the printed page, then check chords, ties, repeats and any densely written measures. Faint print and handwritten symbols can require manual correction.
